Our home sleep studies are known as Level 2 studies, using the same measurements as a laboratory sleep study (in-patient or overnight). This type of sleep study is not a screening test. It’s a simple and accurate method of diagnosing sleep apnoea. You’ll feel more comfortable having the test while sleeping in your own bed and in familiar surroundings.
What is a sleep monitor device?

Once we have the referral, we’ll contact you to discuss how you would like to have your home sleep study and organise the appropriate appointment time. You’ll be asked to complete some paperwork, then our sleep technologist will take a brief medical history and provide information on sleep apnoea. The next morning you’ll return the sleep monitoring device to one of our clinics near where you live.
At the Mid North Coast Sleep Clinic, we are committed to a fast turnaround for results. Once you have returned the home sleep study equipment, the data is downloaded and analysed by one of our sleep scientists and then reviewed by one of our sleep physicians. A report will be sent back to your referring doctor within 4 to 7 days of your test. The sleep clinic will contact you personally when these results have been reported on. If your sleep study results indicate that you do have sleep apnoea, then your doctor will discuss its severity, possible effects on your health and treatment options with you.
